Ask a new question. I am trying to use wiaacmgr. Can someone please tell me how to get it to automatically start when I connect my camera to my pc? It works great in XP but it doesn't appear to work in Vista. When I try to start it wiaacmgr gives me an error stating "No scanner is installed. Install a scanner and try scanning again. But I'm not wanting to scan anything. I am just trying to import some photos from my camera. Any help would be greatly appreciated. DGW I'm sorry if this isn't the correct forum.

In reply to SpiritX's post on August 10, Hello SpiritX; Is this program identical as the one in Windows XP or is it related to the autoplay option "import Pictures using Windows" which does not have the crucial features of its predecessor in Windows XP?
I understand that the Scanner and Camera Installation Wizard is for installing drivers for Cameras and Scanners and is not an autoplay option like the wizard that we are talking about.
The names are similar and cause a lot of confusion, but they are not the same thing. I get a lot of responses in reference to this other program instead of the one that is relevant to my questions. A lot of people assume I'm connecting a camera or scanner when I'm not. I've been to this webpage link several times and there is definitely no correlation or relevance to my questions. I'm only interested in using the media cards from my cameras in a media card reader which consists of Removable Disk Drives D: through H: and the photographs that I copy from my DVDs and CDs on my optical drives.
I never connect a camera via a USB cable to my computer because it is more efficient to remove these media cards from the camera and insert them into my media card reader and process them with this wizard. I know how to set the autoplay options in Windows Vista, however the choices listed do not have the features that I need and are not as user friendly, so I gave up on using Vista for all of my photo processing and went back to using Windows XP.
